“So, what is solitude anyway? and what does it look like to embrace solitude Danicker?”
From my perspective, solitude simply means intentionally spending time with oneself, alone. It’s the time you dedicate to being alone with limited distractions. I feel like being in a state of solitude, can also happen in the company of others, as well.
what does it look like to embrace solitude, in my opinion, this may look different for each individual. Embracing solitude is really about intentionally choosing solitude and the things you do in those moments. That can look like, sipping on a cup of hot ginger tea on the veranda, alone, or, taking a drive alone, for no particular reason, it all depends.
However, my purpose for this post is to encourage you to embrace solitude no matter how busy you might be, living your daily life.
My experience.
Over the years gone by, I have found that I became more in tune with myself the more I allowed myself to be in solitude.
What I love about solitude the most is that I am able to communicate with God intimately. I am able to hear myself and pay attention to my thoughts. I consider solitude as a form of therapy for me. Giving me a new perspective each time, or shifting my current perspective.
A word for you.
Embracing solitude can seem boring in the early stages, if you are someone who’s usually highly distracted by others’ presence, phones, computers, etc. As time goes by, you’ll notice it becomes a routine. Kind of like what you choose will start choosing you, and it’s not a bad thing if it’s Godly.
When you’re in solitude you’ll discover your fears, your strengths, and your weaknesses. You’ll see the world and its habitants from different perspectives, and you’ll gain a better understanding and appreciation for the people around you.
I feel like there’s so much power we all can harness from within ourselves, from being in solitude, solitude is a tool in self-discovery. We’re such powerful beings, if we’ll only slow down, and realize ourselves.
We live in a busy world where we’re caught up with all types of distractions and if you’ll only think, the more distracted we become, it’s the further we’re drifting away from ourselves.
You must become intentional about spending time alone, and embrace solitude, with no distractions. Only you and your mind.
